MANAGEMENT
Currently, rail transport is managed by two companies: the state-owned State Railways Administration (AFE), in charge of infrastructure and passenger transport, and the Railway Logistics Services (SELF) corporation, in charge of freight movement.
Active rail network, available for freight transport
The railway network connects with the networks of Argentina through the El Precursor branch, on the Salto Grande Dam, which links the cities of Salto and Concordia with the same track in both countries, and with Brazil at the Rivera-Livramento Border Crossing, with a different track.
